AUGUSTA, Ga. – A trio of CSRA soccer standouts signed their National Letters of intent on Thursday, February 4 to play at the NCAA DI level.
Westminster senior Daria Stan committed to the Georgia Bulldogs. Stan moved to the United States in kindergarten after living in Romania. She says soccer helped her make friends and adjust to life in a different country. She has played club soccer with the Augusta Arsenal for the past 8 years.
Greenbrier’s Jacob Vaiden will add to his family’s legacy at Georgia Southern. Vaiden’s uncle, Bates Harrison, played with the Eagles from 2001-02. Vaiden is a four-year letter-man for Greenbrier, helping the Wolfpack win a region title in 2015. The left-footed midfielder plays his club soccer in Greenville, South Carolina for CESA 97. He and his parents would make the two-hour commute to practice three times a week, but Vaiden says it was all worth it to reach his dream of playing at the NCAA DI level.
Aquinas senior Ashlynn Shields is also heading to the NCAA DI level. Shields, who plays for the same Augusta Arsenal club team as Stan, signed with Jacksonville State in Alabama.
